_Numerous women who have experienced vaginal mesh complications lodged court charges against medical manufacturers. Presently, approximately one hundred vaginal mesh lawsuits have been filed.

A vaginal mesh lawsuit allows women who are experiencing vaginal complications the opportunity to obtain compensation for medical bills, pain and suffering and other damages resulting from their mesh surgery complications.

Damages Caused by Vaginal Mesh Surgeries

A vaginal mesh is a medical device implanted in a woman’s body for stress urinary incontinence (SUI) and pelvic organ prolapsed (POP) treatment. Unfortunately, many reports claim that it causes the following health dangers:

·         erosion through the vaginal epithelium;
·         reproductive system infections;
·         urinary problems;
·         recurrence of prolapsed;
·         vaginal pain;
·         abnormal bowel movement;
·         bladder or blood vessel perforation;
·         recurrence of incontinence;
·         vaginal scarring; and
·         painful sexual intercourse.

With this, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) released a public warning regarding the possible perils caused by this device in October 2008. It advised that women should ask their physicians regarding other ways to treat their vaginal problems.. Last July 2011, it was made known by the FDA that women who had vaginal mesh surgery were most likely to experience health problems than those who underwent other types of surgery.

Most Preferred Ways to Gain Due Compensation

A number of law groups advise that those who have been affected by vaginal mesh devices and surgeries have the legal right to demand compensation from the manufacturers. Furthermore, those who have encountered the above-stated vaginal mesh complications may be able to pursue related legal action.

Legal observers suggest that the victims should prefer an individual lawsuit rather than participate in a class action lawsuit. The following are the reasons why filing an individual lawsuit is better.

·         Claimants in class actions often wind up recovering very little
·         Lawyers representing class actions get paid huge fees.
·         Class action lawsuits can result in inadequate relief for those actually harmed by the product.
·         Class action lawsuit can hardly help recovering adequate compensation for the injuries.

Hence, victims of vaginal mesh devices should immediately seek legal advice so that they will be guided and assisted on their endeavor. The FDA has not yet recalled the vaginal mesh devices, but it recommends that women should weigh the good and the harm of the surgery.
